rererepo Terms of Use

Article 1 (Scope)

These Terms govern the use of the macOS desktop application "rererepo" and its updates (the "Software") provided by the developer of rererepo (GitHub account lightsound; the "Developer"). By downloading, installing or using the Software you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

Article 2 (Free of charge; license grant)

1. The Software is provided free of charge. No payment, registration or license key is required.
2. Subject to these Terms, the Developer grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to install the Software on Apple Silicon Macs under your control and to use it for personal or business purposes.
3. You must not: (a) decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Software, except to the extent expressly permitted by law; (b) extract, modify, redistribute, sublicense or sell the Software or any part of it, including bundled third-party components; (c) circumvent or disable the Software's code signing or update verification; (d) use the Software in violation of applicable law or GitHub's Terms of Service.
4. You may point others to, or share, the unmodified official distribution (DMG) provided that you identify rererepo.com as its source.

Article 3 (Intellectual property; third-party software)

1. Copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the Software belong to the Developer or the respective rights holders. These Terms do not transfer any such rights.
2. The Software includes open-source software under its respective licenses. The list and the full license texts are available at rererepo.com/oss-licenses (the app's "rererepo" menu → "Open-source licenses" opens the same page). For those components the respective license terms prevail.
3. The Software includes third-party UI components that the Developer uses under a commercial license (HeroUI Pro — NextUI Inc.). For this reason the Software's source code is not published. Extracting or reusing those components is prohibited under Article 2, paragraph 3.
4. The Software uses APIs provided by GitHub, Inc. but is not affiliated with or endorsed by GitHub. Your use of GitHub is governed by GitHub's Terms of Service.

Article 4 (Your responsibility — destructive operations)

1. On your instruction, the Software can perform irreversible operations such as deleting repositories on GitHub and deleting or moving local directories. You perform these operations after confirming the target and the effect yourself, and you are responsible for their results.
2. The Software provides safeguards such as confirmation dialogs, hold-to-confirm and warnings about unpushed commits. They reduce the chance of mistakes but do not guarantee any outcome. Back up important data beforehand.
3. The Developer accepts no liability for loss of or changes to data on GitHub or on your device resulting from operations of the Software.

Article 5 (No warranty)

The Software is provided "AS IS". The Developer makes no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, or absence of errors or vulnerabilities. The Software may be offered as a pre-release (canary) version, and its behavior and specifications may change without notice.

Article 6 (Limitation of liability)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of the use of or inability to use the Software — including without limitation loss of data, business interruption, loss of profits, or damage resulting from deleted repositories — regardless of the cause or the theory of liability (contract, tort or otherwise). The Software is provided free of charge, and you acknowledge this limitation as a premise of that arrangement. Where liability cannot be fully excluded by law, the Developer's liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted.

Article 7 (Best effort; support; no SLA)

1. Development, maintenance and support of the Software are carried out by an individual on a best-effort basis. There is no service level agreement (SLA) of any kind — no guarantee of availability, response time or time to fix.
2. Bug reports and requests are accepted at the public repository github.com/lightsound/rererepo-community (Issues), without any commitment to respond or act.
3. The Developer may change the Software's features, stop providing updates or discontinue distribution at any time without notice.

Article 8 (Updates)

At launch and roughly every 24 hours, the Software asks the Developer's distribution server (dl.rererepo.com) whether a newer version exists and, if so, shows a notice inside the app. When you choose to apply an update, the distribution is verified against Apple's signature and notarization and the Developer's signature before it replaces the installed app. The information sent and stored in this communication is described in the Privacy Policy.

Article 9 (Privacy)

The handling of information by the Software is governed by the separate Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Article 10 (Changes to these Terms)

The Developer may amend these Terms as needed. Amended Terms take effect when posted on this page (rererepo.com/eula). The Developer will endeavor to announce material changes in the release notes or through the in-app update notice. Continued use of the Software after a change constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

Article 11 (Governing law; jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Software, except where mandatory consumer-protection law of your place of residence provides otherwise.

Article 12 (Language)

The Japanese text of these Terms is the authoritative version. This English translation is provided for convenience; in case of any discrepancy the Japanese version prevails.
